New regulation for Pay Equity
On March 1, 2011, new regulation was adopted for Pay Equity. The “Règlement concernant la déclaration de l’employeur en matière d’équité salariale” states that in Quebec, all employers with 6 employees or more will be under the obligation to fill out a declaration regarding pay equity each year. Each year, organizations will have 6 months after the end of their fiscal year in order to fill out a document containing the following information:
- Their Quebec business number;
- The size of their company during a reference period;
- Their area of activity;
- The posting date of their pay equity exercise, if applicable;
- The posting date of the maintenance of their pay equity exercise, if applicable.
